Welcome to our Houston Location
Live Animal Educational Programs Now Serving N. Houston
Due to popular demand and to better serve our South Texas customers, we are excited to announce the addition of a new instructor in the northern Houston/Spring area. Rick Urwin is thrilled to join our team and bring our educational programs to schools and homes in Houston, Katy, Spring, The Woodlands, and the surrounding areas.
Meet Rick Urwin
Rick hails from Alaska, where a love for nature has always been a significant part of his life. Growing up, he was surrounded by a variety of pets, including cats, dogs, bearded dragons, and leopard geckos. Rick has been part of our organization for several years, initially joining us during the summers while pursuing his master’s degree.
Rick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Stephen F. Austin State University and later returned to SFASU to complete his Master of Science degree in Geology. After working as an environmental scientist across Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana, Rick decided to return to the Houston area to follow his passion for wildlife education and working with animals. He is eager to begin his role as the Houston Instructor for The Creature Teacher and to inspire and educate the younger generation in the Greater Houston area.
Rick currently resides in Spring with his wife, Sherry, and their rescue dogs, Apollo and Chic.
